At the end of 2003 there were 8 research studies open to enrollment, 11 studies initiated but not yet open to enrollment, and a total of 63 studies closed since the inception of CPS in 1989.

During 2003, at least 391 subjects were accrued to studies.

Since its founding in 1989, CPS has sponsored a variety of phase I, II, III, and IV studies in the areas of:

  • Communications
  • Complementary and alternative therapies
  • Cost effectiveness of therapies
  • Cultural diversity
  • Development of delivery systems
  • Education
  • Pain and other symptom management
  • Outcome measurement
  • Quality of life
  • Severity of illness
